Ehhh...The Dragons Tail is for *******s.....Try California Route 36, it crosses the Klamath Mountains (Trinity County) from Red Bluff to 12 miles below Eureka. Looks like a nice easy road on the map...but it is 150 miles of nothing but switchbacks with the final 50 miles or so nothing but a ONE lane road winding it's way along the side of a mountain with a fall off of a few thousand feet..There are NO GAS STATIONs, Restruants, and maybe one market on the whole road...There are several nice State Park Camp Grounds though....ONce you see it you can understand why Trinity Countys largest cash crop is Marijuna....Your out in the middle of nowhere... but it is beautiful
