Our founding fathers gave judges power for a reason. Check out the US constitution sometime. Judges aren't spending the money, the (currently republican) congress is.
With regard to taxes, it pains me to write a 4-figure check to uncle sam on top of what I already paid, when I need more Porsche parts!
