My 69 "NLA" 911 E emblem has the prongs and is mounted through the decklid like the letters.. Yours may have been change sometime. I got lucky during my restoration. I called Stoddard's to try and get a new gold 911E emblem. They had none but gave me two other dealers to call, one in FL and one in CA. Because of the time difference I called CA first and they had one in inventory. $52 including shipping. When I got it it had a inventory sticker from 1998. They'd had it on the self for 7 years. Anyway, as been said before, any auto parts store should have some emblem adhesive.
