Just back from Sweden, long hard trip. Not sure what you describe here. Can I take the existing rear shocks and modify them (convert them) to coilovers with some additional hardware. ie suitable threaded collars, springs etc. Do the shock have to be of a particular type to be able to convert them ? I am not sure of the type I use, will check.

The thread you directed me to was very intertesing, and great picture of an inverted coilover (this is your 69T I presume). I understand the point you make about the crossmember. I marvel at the work you track guys put into fine tuning the car. I am not in the same league, and the height of the rear suspension (within limits) would not be too important to me. I want to balance the rear suspension between coilover and torsion bars.
