First off military service age is 18, not 21 and you do not serve 2 years. Its an initial 4 month period followed by a refresher course of 2 weeks per year until you are 30. Then down to 1 week per year until 40 and finally 1 week per 2 years until 50.
If you are selcted to become a non com then you have to add 8 months to the initial 4 months (4 months non com scholl followed by a 4 month intial course as a non com. Selectees for Officer scholl then add another 8 month cycle (4 months officer school and another 4 months as an Initial course officer.)
