You know how sports figures always say 'It's not about the money!' ... when it's ALWAYS about the money? Well, it's the same way with women, except, really, it's about control!!!
I guess the ring would be more meaningful if you bought it, and had it cut and crimped in your nose!
Seriously, I cannot imagine how anyone purported to love or understand you, could ask for that kind of ring, knowing that your project car would sit unfinished and covered up ... if that is really the sacrifice you will have to make in order to get her the ring!
It would make more sense to spend $5K on a set of 9 & 11 x 15 Fuchs from Earnie's Alloys in Miami ... than to buy that ring! Or get a super-engine that will rev to 9000 rpm, from Bob Norwood in North Dallas ... at least you would have something to be proud of, rather than a problem to complain about!
