No cat + no muffler = LOUD (way too loud)...
I'd leave as is at least until you get it back on and see how it sounds.
PS. I almost bought an RX8 today, probably would have if I didn't get sick as heck on the test drive ;P I probably peed everyone off at the dealer, cause they had already stayed an extra hour for me. Heh.
