FI connection Questions
Well I decided to go with the FI system so I have finally jerked the pinto carb from my car. My FI system arrived today and when I opened the box, I was worried. I've deciphered some of the connections but I need some help with any or all of these questions. First let me say that I'm putting a '72 D-jetronic on a '71. They are both 1.7 motors so I think it will work. My questions are:
1. What does the red wire on the bottom of the supplementary air valve connect to?
2. Where do the 3 sets of ground terminals hook to. (I think haynes calls them mass connections but I'm not sure)
3. There are 2 double wire connectors that I'm not sure of. One has a wire #13 and the other has a wire #32. I'm thinking that the #32 is for the cold start valve because one of the wires is out and bare as if it might be hooked to the thermoswitch.
4. Speaking of the thermoswitch, I have a sensor of some sort screwed straight down into the block right next to the distributor. Is this the thermoswitch?
5. There is a single wire connector #23. Is this the temp sensor II?
6. Where do the connections to the factory fuel pump come from?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Also, Where is the temp sensor #1 located? The haynes pic is vague and if it's where I think it is, I don't think I have one.
