I like this place
http://www.lhls.com/lodge.htm Lighthouse Lodge, has suites as well as regular rooms, nice breakfast building (for the suites anyway). in a beautiful area (Pacific Grove)
And this place
http://www.hotelpacific.com/ in central Monterey, a compact little place, convenient and comfortable. There are a pair of junior suites on the lower level, 102 and 101 I think, that connect.
