I had a CB750F when I was 17 - the equivalent of today's GSXR750. I crashed my brains out once a month. I still can't believe I'm alive.

I had a 1975 CB750F when i was 17 too, I miss that bike, always started right up, looked cool (cafe racer style) and it moved pretty decently.
THAT is what you should learn on if you want a sport bike. Go to a motorcycle school, invest in safety gear and do not think about riding a Hayabusa.
I was fortunate to grow up with a father that raced motorcycles, I started out riding Rupp minibikes, up through 80's 125's 250's 500's and so on. I was not allowed ot ride anything over 750cc's until I turned 18.
You cannot learn to ride on a 1200cc bike. you need to learn balance and feel. You cant do that on a bike like that.
