Back in the day Huntley Racing claimed 10-12hp on the NA MAF kit, it included the MAF, ARC2(fuel control), AFPR, and a a/f gauge. I noticed a big difference once I did the MAF and a tuned Exhaust Header, One day I will need to run on a dyno but there isnt many around me.
The MAF kit is a great upgrade if you really looking to build your motor, with the Stock AFM there are limitations due to flow, now the only big limitation would be the Throttle body and thats not that bad, Im not sure how FR-wilk has his MAF setup or if he will be running stock fuel MAPS, But I would think if he sold a chip (made just for the MAF conversion) that it would be really sweeet.
Pokey- You dont have to do any upgrades for the MAF conversion, it will work with or with out upgrades. It all depends on what your looking for, IF I where you I would start out with a Chip (PP2), MAF conversion, and a good exhaust, Then If you still not happy thats when you can start dumping more money in. The one thing I would be careful of is too much porting and polishing, If you go crazy and have bigger valves installed and make the ports huge your gonna loose alot of low end power and gain some in the upper R's.
