I live in the town I went to college in. The fall after I graduated from college, I had the guys back down. (About 5 years ago.) We hit all of the old hot spots. After the bars close, we go and stand in line at a hotdog stand. As we're in line (about 50-75 people long), a guy walks right past everyone and to the front of the line. He gets his hotdog and walks back. I recognize the guy, I used to work with him at a Sbarro in college. I say: "Hey, Simon." as he walks past.
He turns to me and says: "Who the f**k are you?"
I say, "I used to be your manager at Sbarro. How's it going?"
I notice that he's wearing a staff T-shirt for one of the bars...he's a bouncer. Further, he's wearing some frat ring. He's a bouncer frat boy. Not at all the guy I remember. He says: "You know what, you don't even deserve to talk to me. Kiss my a**."
My response? "Wow, it must be nice to s**t gold..."
At the time I was 6'1" and a lean, muscular 200 lbs. This guy was on the order of 5'8" and maybe 160 lbs. Further, I had five college friends with me, and I was the small guy in the group.
At this point, this guy loses it, threatening to kill me. I simply stand there and taunt him. (It was fun.) I wasn't going to swing first either. Some old guy ends up walking up to him and pushing him backwards down the street as he yells at me. It was hilarious!
Maybe I was a little pigheaded, but my biggest pet peeve is grossly overinflated egos. I had no plans of hitting the guy, but I wasn't going to back down, either.
