well pete if you run a stiffener from the fire wall ( or door latch ) to the middle of the long you will be putting all of the stress in the middle of the long where it can not handle it. another common place for our cars to crack is the parking brake handle area. if you want to stiffen the car the inner long kit with a bar that goes thru the fire wall from the suspension to the middle of the long will do a lot for the car.

i plan on doing the inner long kit ( will make my own ) with a roll bar with a bar that goes to the rear shock tower, then another from the roll bar to the middle of the long.
