How about a discussion about the finish of the 68 only breakaway mirror. Most know of the matte alum finish. I have a chrome finish and SWBSam mentioned he had a NOS chrome version at one time. Was there a difference in finish between the 911 normal and the L? I have recently learned about the basketweave versus elephant hide door panels in 68. Is this a similiar situation? There is a rubber stamped number but, no cast numbers or three stars like the 65-67 mirrors
