I here what you are saying David, and you are absoultely correct. The problem is that it is human nature, to some degree, to generalize and to hold all Christians in the same gategory as this a$$ho1e. As much as we intellectually try to overcome it, it is always there to some degree. Someone above posted the same thing regarding Muslims. All Muslims are certainly not in the same category as fundamental Muslim terrorists, but what do you think when you see one, with his full beard and robe? I see one of these guys and my gut reaction is "terrorist." I have to use my intellect to force this gut reaction to the side and tell myself that I have nothing against this guy. Not everyone (see "Alfred") can do this. Right now, my gut reaction is to put all Christians in the same category as Alfred. I'm trying to intellectulize this reaction away. But again, not everyone will be able to do that.
As for Alfred, let me play psychologist for a bit. I emphasize the word "play." Here is a guy with self-esteem that's down in the gutter. He has a crutch, that he calls his faith, to help boost his self worth. He uses his faith to prove he is superior to the rest of the world. Sheesh, look at those quotes regarding the word "white." Is there anyone that really thinks these quotes prove that white skinned people are superior? No one in their right mind would, but Alfred is clearly not in his right mind.
I would venture further and say that Alfred's religion is an addiction. Pretty much anything can be an addiction these days. Religious addiction is certainly not unheard of. Alfred has gotten obsessive complusive over his religion and his superiority over the rest of the world. Take away this feeling of superiority, this addiction, and Alfred would crumble to bits in an instant.
Alfred, tell us about your childhood. Most people with these issues can trace their origin back to their childhoods.
Alfred, buddy, you need help and you need it big time. You are not only all that is wrong with religion, you are all that is wrong with society, all that is wrong with humanity. It's people like you that are the cause of the majority of the worlds woes. You are the definition of the word "evil." I hope you can find a real solution, and not a crutch or addiction, to the deamons that are fighting inside you.
