What I find really odd about this....
In about 1999 and 2000 I to stayed a couple times in Laguna Beach, at the Sand and Surf Hotel. Beautiful town. At an outdoor function on the hotel patio, talking my some of my US colleagues, I pointed in amazement to those houses perched on the denuded hills above the town, and had the specific conversation about erosion and building approvals. I aint no builder or engineer, but I was amazed that houses had been allowed there. It looked so damn unstable.
It was about a year later I saw on TV some of them had been washed down the cliff. Sad to see its happened again, but I'm still amazed people were allowed to build there.
Laguna rocks. Anyone know a bar called Woodies? Just danced the night away. Odd though, never saw any girls in there. Oh well, the chaps still send Christmas cards.
