Not being a surveryor by trade, I may be abusing terms.

I don't think you can use meets and bounds to describe property boundaries in this case I'm picturing an imaginary grid over the terrority, and the ground under the grid that belongs to Joe Schmoe still belongs to Joe, it's just that his topsoil has been re-allocated to Harvey Wallbanger. To me, it's analagous to someone taking a bulldozer and removing the house and 6' of material from the top of my lot; I still own the lot, it's just a wee bit closer to China now.
