Could you be with a successful woman?
Most of my coworkers are women who are successful, high wage earners. The vast majority of them have stay-at-home husbands but some have spouses who earn a small fraction of the total household income. These women not only spend many hours at work but they also spend much more time than their husbands caring for the kids. I hear them complain all the time about their husbands not wanting to shuttle the kids to practices, lessons, etc because Moms should do that. I also hear them complain about their husbands' outrageous spending habits.
I can't help but think these guys are being pains in the a$$ to compensate or cope somehow with the success of their wives. It may sound like I'm generalizing but, seriously, every female coworker I know who's husband earns less fits this mold. These women complain that their spouses are lazy, unmotivated yet very demanding.
I'd like to think that if my wife started earning way more than myself that I'd be cool with it. I'm hoping pride won't get in the way and start manifesting itself in ways above.
