not all beers are supposed to be ice cold
some of the Belgian abbey beers for example , are best kept in an alcove, not warm as in room temperature, but definately not fridge cold.
Duvel for example , best served between 6 and 10 degrees C
red or blue Chimay 10 to 12 degrees C
so it all depends on what beer they drank in that Asterix book
i think some of the older English beers , are indeed served warmer than a sixpack of Budweiser...
