"gently" can be taken different ways
my paint cracked after I used a heatgun on the lip
others had success w/ a..... torch!
so the moral is, you have to really heat up the paint... almost to melting point? (I guess)
oh, flake off as much paint as you can (it already happened) then seal it, either w/ Por-15 and touch up, or w/ some clear coat/touch up combo.
