I have quite a collection of old African hunting lore on my bookshelf. In one of the stories related by a professional hunter, he was summoned by the local warden to hunt down a man-eating leopard. When he met the father of its last victim, he was meeting a man that had lost all seven of his sons over the years to various critters. This young boy was his last one; his last shot both figuratively and literally. Anyway, when he finally baited and killed the leopard, the old man walked silently up to it and without saying a word or changing expression, he cut its balls off. Kind of a final "***** you, arsehole". I couldn't imagine life in a place where these kinds of things are a real, day to day, part of life.
