I don't come over to this board very often (I'm here to find info on hard start), but I will mention one thing for you, FWIW:
I have a 911 SC, and a 968 cab. The 911 is more machine like than the 968; it's finicky, and I feel like I go through a mental checklist before I use it.
The 968 is simply a treat to drive. That thing rocks...it has creature comforts, goes like hell, and sticks to the road pretty well. Also, no one has any idea what it is. If it didn't say Porsche on it, I don't know what anyone would think.
I'd recommend a 968 cab to someone like yourself, a water cooled guy, in Florida, no less. It's nice to cruise in with the top down! The 968 really is the epitome of the water cooled series.
