Matt, if it makes you feel any better about having to learn this stuff, let me say; the reason abet accredited engineers make more $ than egr techs (even though they may not be smarter) is that the boss
knows that the egr can(and will) quickly learn what ever is needed . .. regardless of interest. (the tech's usually are not so willing.)
