Help me understand 911 Suspension
OK, so the Bilsteins are there to damp motion.
But instead of springs to manage compression, 911s use a set of bars?
Does that not cause a lot of stress of those bars with all of that deflection?
Can someone please give me a short lesson on how they work and what is the theory behind modifications. Pictures or drawings of the bars in question on the cars would be great.
For example. If the cars had springs, to get better cornering, you would buy lower and stiffer springs. Is the logic exactly the same with buying thicker bars?
Also is the logic in buying hollow bars, just to lower weight?
Thanks
