Actually, Porsche ditched the torsions and went with coilovers to package the AWD's extra hardware on the 964. Notice that 964/993s have dramatically different wheel offsets than every 911 prior ...a product of suspension geometry changes dictated by AWD's diff, axles, and hubs.
