I think the organ donor thing would fall under the heading of "cruel and unusual" blah blah blah. Though all of us have seen the American justice system fail from time to time, I still think it capable of dispensing proper punishments. I don't buy into the "9-11 changes everything" to the extreme that some do, by advocating mutilation and such.

Under American justice, of course, the poor terrorist will be punished, and the rich one will go free.

I'd like to pose another question. What punishment would fit the crime, if it even is a crime, of profiting from acts of terrorism? How would you feel about someone who even entertains the thought of doing so?
