The problem was that Wilson lied to the press and the nation at the President's expense. Wilson openly contradicted the president in public based on Wilson's supposed work in Niger...which Wilson was lying about. I agree that no rational person should have accepted his claims....and the adminstration did not.....but in their typical lockstep fashion....the liberals and the media did....but are they rational?
