With the line off I revved it to 3k and still cuts out. I know what your talking about the plate moving in the dist, it happened on my 3.0. I will pull the cap off and check it to make sure.
The thing is it runs fine wide open from 1.5k to 3.5 in 3rd gear. Part throttle at cruising speed cuts out.
The msd box is hooked up exactly like it was on my 3.0 and never had any problems.
