It's tough to screw up a mid-engine coupe. I doubt that the engineers we've come to know and love (or hate, when we're elbow-deep in the engine bay trying to pull that one last bolt that we can't reach) have the capability to do it Wrong (tm). Leave that to GM.
That said, I'll second the "too heavy" sentiment. My next Porsche may very well be a Cayman that some guy bought, turned into a track car, and then "has to sell because of the new baby."
