So what's all this about "I only like pre 1972 911's"
Or "the 993 was the last REAL 911"
Yes, I know the 996/997 are water cooled however if your average Joe/Jill see one rolling down the road they are going to see the beloved inverted bathtub silhouette with a rear mounted flat six and big red brake calipers peeking out from fat alloy wheels and say "oh look. a new 911".
If a 993 is so different from a 996 then isn't a 993 also completely different from 911?
