1) "A special note about women in Porsche's: It is probably their boyfriend's, or they are a dyke, or they are stuck up and won't wave back anyway"
Bite me. A very good friend is on her 3rd Porsche, which happens to be a Boxster (the other 2 were 914s) she was actually very hesitant to join the boards (Pelican & Rennlist) as well as PCA in fear that she wouldn't be taken seriously or the other members/subscribers were a bunch of middle-aged jerks - not exactly disproving that with this stupid wave rules.
2) "you 2.7 guys are a militant bunch"
You bet - gotta stick together... from the sound of it, sometimes, you would think we own different makes of vehicle. Frankly, I've seen more rat-bag SCs running around than I have thrashed middies. There may be something said about the SCs lasting longer, but it says nothing of the "pride in your ride"
3) If you like what you see: wave... if you don't: forget it. We're supposed to be a bunch of enthusiasts here, but I see SOOO much clique-ish behavior among model years it's crazy.
I paid much less for my 911 than a guy buying a 997 - does that mean he likes his car more? Or that he's a better enthusiast?
We need to get over ourselves.
Maybe we need to get some of the comraderie that Jeeps share (there used to be a LOT of dissention among models in that community) now it generally boils down to a simple statement: "It's a Jeep Thing - you wouldn't understand."
We can adopt the premise:
"It's a Porsche Thing: Sie verstehen nicht"
-Cheers
