Engine removal question

ok well today i started the process of removing the engine. Im to the point where its time to take it out, but im not too sure on where to attach the hoist.

I see the ring in the rear of the engine on the passenger side of the car, but is that the correct place to attach the hoist. And shouldnt there be another one up front to support the front of the engine? Right now im eyeing the intake manifold, but I dont really want to have to do that.

The other question is: Should i take it out the top or the bottom? From what I understand if i remove the radiator and the fans (which i did) then it should be as simple as unbolting the torque tube, sliding the engine foward to disengage the drive shaft, and then it should come up with little problem.

If i do all that do i still have to unbolt the crossmember?

Oh if anyone knows where i can get an engine rebuild kit, let me know, i think im going to just do a full rebuild while i've got the chance.
