And what would the cost to said pencil-neck geek be to switch from SUV to green peace car? That was the intent of the original post. What good would using half as much oil (savings in dollars) do if you have to spend X times that to achieve the savings?
The original post was (IMO) a very good look at the actual numbers involve in this particular instance. It was not an emotional decision based on the portrayal of big vehicles as the enemy.
