Tony's kit is made to install without having to make any permanent changes. MOst people will never go back to CIS and therfore cut down their airbox. You do not have to remove the right side where the air metering plate is. It will give you much better access to the engine bay if you do.
Teh decision is up to you. If you want to cut it out, just follow the contour from the bottom above the passenger side runners. Then just cut off the top. Noah had a great post a while back showing his air box destruciton, err I mean how he cut it down.
I think Ben has the right idea of fabbing up a new one.
