Also if you like books on tape, books on iPod are good especially for long drives. Just rent a book on CD from the library and rip it into iTunes.

I love audio books and have 6 of them on my iPod right now. When I rip my own, though, I get a problem. It remembers where I left off, which is good. If I pause and switch to a song, it remembers and picks up just fine. But, if I pause and let it fall asleep during an audio book, it loses the place, and I have to hold menu+select to get it to wake back up. I've made it a habit of just switching to a song and then turning off, but I don't think I should have to do that... any ideas there? It's just a goofyness. The iTunes store audio books don't have this problem, btw.
pbs911: Don't even consider the iTrip. It worked well when I lived in the middle of nowhere, since there wasn't a station anywhere near its frequency. I spent two hours on the road yesterday, though, and could only get it to sound good by holding the iPod up to my head... it was using me as an antenna, I guess. Yes, I got some looks.
