I don't understand the seam in the second to last photo. It looks like the counter was not deep enough to reach the backsplash. Is that correct? If so then perhaps they were trying to cut costs by using some scrap materials. The sink looks fine to me but the finish work is pretty bad. We have a similar stainless sink with granite slab tops. The granite company I hired offered us the option of completely coverig the sink edge or leave some exposed like yours appears to be. As long as the exposed dimension of stainless is uniform I don't see a problem. Love the colors you choose! Good luck.
