In its most severe form a devastating disease. Highly contagious but also carrying a certain degree of heredity with clusters in some families.
Majority of victims are male. Highest incidence rate in the age group of 20 - 40 years.
Displays a variety of symptoms typically found within the group of addictive diseases.
Diagnosis is to be made on fulfilling at least 4 of below listed symptoms.
Major symptoms:
- Unless unavoidably detained the patient is not able to defer BBS more than 24 hours straight. Usually the off line time frames a much shorter.
- If unable to reach BBS the patient starts suffering from withdrawal symptoms. These include bad temper, insomnia, loss of apatite, less patience with friends and family members and a general irrational feeling of unhappiness.
Minor symptoms:
- Starts computer first thing in the morning, before breakfast and before kissing spouse good morning. Difficulties being at work in time.
- Starts computer first thing at work.
- Ditto at night coming home from work.
- Insomnia. See above. Having difficulties turning of computer at night.
- Neglecting important parts of life including social life.
- Financial problems on account of a higher risk of also catching the dangerous PP upgrade virus.
Treatment:
No effective treatment available.
