I've got a 1976 Carrera 3.0 and a 1986 325 es.
The E 30 is a great car with unbelievealbe reliability. I've used it as a daily driver and have over 170k (miles) on the clock. It seems to be pretty much bulletproof and is fun to drive with the 3:35 differntial swap I did (the 2.97 is too tall!) and chip. Gets great gas mileage too.
There is really no comparison between the cars though. The p-car is in a completely different league.
