I think that is the right pump for DME engine - looks like my ('86 - 3.2L) pump. It is only good for 40psi or so. I don't know what MFI needs.
I believe you need a gravity feed to the inlet side, too, for it to work properly. Mine is mounted in the cavity above the steering rack. If you have a feed pump for this, I suspect it would work. Not sure if it would "pull" from the rear wheelwell.
