yeah, the ‘flex plate’ (that the torque converter attaches to) rarely breaks.

but changing that disk (or rubber flex damper) on the flywheel is about the same amount of work as a new clutch.

the part alone is about $700…plus what?... 8 - 10 hours labor minimum

unless you do it yourself, you’re looking at about $2000 or more - easy

many would say there are better ways to spend that money than to put it into a 22 year old slushbox
