The Governor of North Carolina announced this afternoon that the two pipelines that bring 90% of the gasoline into NC are shut down for an indefinite period. They both come from the gulf coast, none of the refineries are up and running yet, and even if they were, there is no power for the pipeline pumps.
My wife and I filled up both vehicles, and we will see what happens by the weekend. Unleaded premium was 2.99 a gallon this afternoon. It will be interesting to see what it is in 48 hours (the story will hit the NC papers tomorrow morning).
