Yeah, pretty much... Much as I hate politics, just imagine how it would look if we were to glom onto Iraq's oil for our own purposes after ostensibly invading the country for harboring 'weapons of mass destruction'. Not good. We are pretty much walking on tenterhooks there right now, and appropriating Iraq's oil for our own uses would be counterproductive, to say the least. Think about it.
