I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but the Iraqis don't really like us that much. I think they did like us a little after we first flushed Saddam down the crapper, but after the months rolled by and we were totally lacking in any kind of plan to keep the power up and security in evidence, they probably began to think we're just as big in the ********* dept. as Saddam was, if not more. They don't see us as true-blue liberators who want to give them choices, but more as profiteering conquerors who only want to make off with their oil.
So, making off with their oil is, probably, not the right thing to do right now.
