Update: The vet came, put the horse down (took a while--she had very little bloodflow in the end), and now they've craned her out of my neighbor's yard.
On top of it he's saddled (NPI) with the vet and rendering bill, since the sheriff's dept. is calling this an "abandonment" case and not "animal cruelty". WTF? Of course we're all pitching in to help out, but some ********* out there is getting away with this scot-free.
People suck. Did I mention that?
