I've been dealing with AR for years now. Doc says I have one of those lazy valves and need surgery. I take Prilosec everyday (Costco has good deals on stuff). Tagamet used to work but not any more. I really need to get the surgery. If not controlled it can lead to big problems. It's worst for me when my stomach is empty.
