My call sign in the Navy was 'Maynard G'.
My last name is Krebs.
Before he was Gilligan, those old enough will remember Bob Denver as a beatnick named Maynard G. Krebs on the 'Dobie Gillis Show'. His girfriend was Zelda, and he was into the bongos and saying "Cool, Man!" long before it was cool.
