I, myself spent a period of my growing up years in a single parent family (Mom) on Welfare in Oakland, Ca. during the days of racial tension (Black Panthers, asassination of Martin Luther King) and having to go to the store and purchase items with Food Stamps. It s*cked then and I'm sure it does now for people. I can comprehend the need during crisis to go after the basic needs for survival, including food, water, baby needs, clothing, hell I can even figure out a justification of comforts to possibly include furniture and bedding. But come on, when has killing and intercourse become a necessity? It was mayhem committed by a small minority due to opportunity and weather.
