Anyone care to comment on Celine Dion's words of late? (Yes, it's yesterday's news - this happened this past weekend)
While her donation of 1 million dollars is great, her opinions are questionable, IMHO.

Two quotes from her statement:
Quote:

"I know there's reasons for it. I'm sorry to say I'm being rude, but I don't want to hear those reasons," she said of the delayed relief effort that has prompted virulent criticism of the US government.

Gee, that's nice - criticize the slow response and then state you don't care to know the reason behind why the response is so slow. Wow - isn't that what they call ignorance?
But here's the kicker:
Quote:
Ms. Dion on Larry King Live
"You know, some people are stealing and they're making a big deal out of it," Dion said on CNN's "Larry King Live," as she said she'd donate $1 million toward relief.
"Oh, they're stealing 20 pair of jeans or they're stealing television sets. Who cares? They're not going to go too far with it. Maybe those people are so poor, some of the people who do that they're so poor they've never touched anything in their lives. Let them touch those things for once."

Ok - how about the people who own those stores who make a living selling those items? That was how they earned a living. When NO gets back in order, THEY are going to care.
And I don't think the poor folks really appreciate Ms. Dion's demeaning comments either.
If stealing and looting are of no concern, perhaps we should all visit Ms. Dion's home and do some pillaging ourselves...
