Hi, I'm Jack... And I'm a Monsterholic.
Just bought it a couple of weeks ago. 2000 Monster 900i.e. that had 2 miles on it when I bought it, full warranty.
It's sitting at just over 200 miles on the odo now.
Oh, and gutting the stock cans can make Harley owners somewhat jealous. It doesn't rumble and thump like a Harley, but it does make a very nice sound all it's own. I'd almost say it sounds better than an 883 Sportster. I'm still running break in procedures on mine, so I haven't heard what it sounds like above 6 grand, but I'd bet it sounds sweet from 6k-8k.
And to comment on the torque that the above story talks of..... I had a co-worker ride my bike home for me that first day. The co-worker owns a Kawasaki Vulcan with the 88cu.in.(1450cc's) engine.... He couldn't believe how much torque my little 904c.c. engine was putting out. And none of the Harley guys can believe the rev capabilities. Heck, a Harley redlines at 6k, my break-in rules limit me to 6k for the first 650miles, then 7k up to 1500miles, and a recommended redline of 8k after full break in.
