I picked one of these up for my B-Day for my 944 Turbo.
I must say I was quite impressed with the workmanship on this piece. I own a few LR products and this one is definitely top notch.
One of the main reasons I bought this intake was to equalize the flow over the 4 runners. THe 944 turbo under boost applications historically will lean out #4 first.
I have been testing some of the extremes of my set up..........and at the same time have roasted 2 head gaskets over the summer in the name of science.
My current setup
- Vitesse Stage 2 (t04e), 240 CFM head, 55 lb injectors, Smt6, LR fuel rail, SFR 3" testpipe/Cat back, AVC-R etc.... etc. etc..
1st Tests
91 Octane at over +21 psi - Car runs very strong. EGT's would occasionally peak excessively high at 1500+F on #4 runner and she finally blew the gasket. THe AFR was set at this point at 12.0 at 3.5Krpm to redline...............
2nd Tests
91 and 94 Octane at over +22 psi - Car runs very strong. EGTs still would rise on #4. ~1450F. The AFR was set to run 10.5 at 3.5Krpm to redline. She finally blew.
The first 2 headgaskets showed serious detonation on #4. The ring was pounded in every segment. 1,2 and 3 were in very good shape with the occasional dent.

Install Lindsey racing INtake for the third test.
3rd Test (only the first week and hopefully the results stay true)
94 Octane at over +21 psi and setup like test #2.
- idle smoothed out (but that was probably an intake leak I was chasing)
- AFR that was previously at 10.5 to redline...... was now going of the scale RICH on #4. The 4th runner was now getting less flow (equalized).
The intake definitely addresses one of the short comings of the stock intake.
I will finally re-tune and lean it out to optimize power and get her on the dyno.
